High-Performance Epoxy Primer & Moisture Barrier

KeraSHIELD A+B is a high-performance, two-component, water-based epoxy primer and moisture barrier designed to control substrate moisture and improve adhesion before the installation of waterproofing membranes, levelling compounds and compatible flooring systems.

Formulated with advanced epoxy technology, KeraSHIELD A+B provides excellent adhesion to concrete, screeds, masonry and stone, while creating a durable, low-permeability barrier against rising damp, moisture vapour transmission and efflorescence. The complete two-coat system provides hydrostatic resistance of up to 250 kPa, equivalent to approximately a 25-metre head of water.

Suitable for residential, commercial and industrial applications, KeraSHIELD A+B can be applied to properly prepared concrete, including damp and green concrete, cement screeds, masonry, concrete blockwork and stone. It is suitable for internal and external use, including approved negative-side hydrostatic-pressure applications.

KeraSHIELD A+B offers three application systems to suit different substrate conditions: a single coat as a primer, two coats to form a complete moisture barrier, or three coats where an additional sand-seeded bonding surface is required. The third coat provides a mechanical key for subsequent adhesives, screeds and levelling compounds without compromising the underlying two-coat moisture barrier.

Mixed at a simple 1:1 ratio by volume, KeraSHIELD A+B can be applied by roller, squeegee or stiff nylon broom. Subsequent compatible materials may be installed after a minimum of 24 hours following the final coat under suitable conditions, with full cure achieved in approximately 7 days at 25°C.

Coverage and curing times depend on substrate condition, application thickness, temperature, humidity and ventilation. A single primer coat does not provide the moisture resistance of the complete two-coat barrier system. Where sand seeding is required, apply a third coat over the completed two-coat barrier.
